The Big Klosowski
Allen Klosowski is a photographer who generally takes photos of buildings. He usually takes photos when on trips of visits to big cities such as New York. His work is almost like a documentation of all the places he visits throughout his life however his usual theme when taking the photos is city scape. He is known by many as The Big Klosowski.
This is one of his photographs of a modern city building. The building is made up of mostly glass giving it a reflection from the sky. This creates an overall blue tint onto the image making it quite bright and vivid. The blue look to the image also gives it a colder feel compared to if there was reds or oranges in the image. This could represent the weather at the time.
The image is taken from a low angle creating leading lines up into the sky. This makes the image look more dynamic as there is mostly straight lines and very small amount of curves. I like the way you can see the reflection of the other buildings because it makes the image feel larger than it is. This is because rather than just being able to see what was in front of the camera you can also see what was behind giving you a better idea of the environment that the photographer was in when taking the photograph.
The lighting in the image is quite bright especially in the sky and in the reflection of the building. This makes the image stand out a lot more and creates a happier feel to if it compared to if a darker tone was used. The sky acts as a negative apace around the building which draws your attention straight to the building and nothing else.
Klosowski would have taken the image on a digital camera as the photograph isn’t that old. He usually travels to different places and takes images while he’s there which creates a documentary of where he’s been in his lifetime. He would of held the camera rather than using a tripod to allow him to get such a low angled perspective on the building. There would have probably been slight editing done to the image such as changing the contrast and brightness to make the image more vivid.

Hanging Plan
These two images work very well together because of similar they are in style. They are of the same building but at a very different angle. I have positioned the images on certain sides so that they both point more to the middle allowing you to focus on the centre of the two so you are not drawn to one more than the other.
